TPD Compliance

All products available for purchase on the Vapeaah UK website are fully compliant with TPD Regulations. Below, you can learn more about what these regulations entail and their implications for vapers.

What is TPD?

TPD stands for the Tobacco Products Directive (Tobacco Products Directive 2014/14/EU (TPD)), an initiative introduced by the EU to regulate the advertising, sale, and production of tobacco products. Its primary aim is to enhance health protection and awareness regarding tobacco products. TPD encompasses various aspects of tobacco production and retail, including manufacturing, sales locations, advertising, packaging requirements, and taxation. It applies not only to traditional tobacco products like cigarettes and cigars but also to vaping devices and e-liquids. The regulations mandate testing of ingredients before sale, detailed packaging labeling, and restrictions on where tobacco products can be used.

Why does it apply to vaping?

Despite not containing tobacco leaf, vaping products fall under TPD regulations because they often contain nicotine, typically extracted from the tobacco plant. Although synthetic nicotine alternatives exist, any product containing nicotine is subject to TPD regulations.

When did it come into effect?

The TPD was established in May 2014 and became enforceable law on May 20, 2016. This meant that any non-compliant stock had to be sold before this date, leading to changes in available products and sales practices within the vaping industry.

What are the regulations and how do they affect vaping?

The regulations encompass various aspects, including limitations on e-cigarette tank capacities and bottle sizes for e-liquids containing nicotine, maximum nicotine concentrations, requirements for child-resistant packaging, and labeling regulations indicating nicotine content and addiction potential. Additionally, all e-cigarettes and e-liquids must undergo approval by the MHRA before being sold.

Vapeaah's Compliance Measures:

Since the implementation of TPD, Vapeaah has diligently adhered to the prescribed guidelines to ensure full compliance. All tanks sold by Vapeaah have capacities under the 2ml maximum limit, whether purchased individually or as part of a kit. E-liquids containing nicotine are packaged in 10ml bottles, while larger bottles without nicotine, known as short fills, are offered alongside concentrated nicotine shots for customization of nicotine strength. Furthermore, all e-liquids produced by Vapeaah have been submitted to and approved by the MHRA as TPD-compliant.

None of the products available on the Vapeaah website or in its physical stores contain caffeine or taurine. Moreover, they are all diacetyl-free, addressing concerns related to popcorn lung. Detailed ingredient lists and nicotine warnings are provided on product packaging for consumer safety and awareness.
